Even with a careful hand and good tools, eyeliner may not look good. With a few extra tricks your eyeliner will look perfect and will your eyes do shine.
Eyeliner can also be used if you have an older skin but there is a right way of applying. I use eyeliner every day and do this, like most of us, in my own way. Still, there are tricks to put on some eyeliner in a right way.
Perfectly applying eyeliner
Perfect eyeliner begins with a proper preparation. First, choose an eyeliner with a thin, soft point or a thin brush. I always use waterproof eyeliner with a thin brush. Thick, heavy eyeliner will do make you look older, and enters in the wrinkles which you’d rather not want people to notice. A very thin line will refine your eyes without making it look too heavy.
Start with the right foundation for your eyeliner in order to get a good look.
Bring a neutral primer on your eyes leading to a more even, smooth base for your eye makeup. Let the primer dry before you apply the eyeliner. Next you can put some eye shadow on your eyes before you apply the eyeliner. This ensures that there are no spots as the eyeshadow comes into contact with the eyeliner.

Choose dark eyeliner colors such as gray, plum, brown and black but no pastel colors.
Pencil eyeliners are popular, but not practical for the older skin. Pencil liners tend to smudge and smear worse. Instead, choose an on gel-based liner that will smear a lot smoother.
Start on the outer corner of your eye and draw a line to the inside with a smooth, gliding movement. You can slightly put the eye aside with your finger, so you get a small eye. Don’t go all the way with the liner to the inner corner. Stop when your natural lashes stop. Your eye will appear smaller if you make a line from corner to corner.
You can draw the line a little longer in the outside corner to create a catty effect, but don’t do this too far.
Rub gently over the line with the tip of your finger, a cotton swab or a clean brush. A little smearing softens the line. I do not do this myself but just make sure that the line in the inner corner of the eye is narrower than in the outer corner of the eye.
Some ladies also use an eyeliner under the eyes. This can be done with a pencil but I do not recommend this. It can make the eyes look too heavy and will give you droopy eyes.
Finally, a touch of powder will help the liner stay in place.
